Thinking of Playing Bowls – Join our Friendly Club
Thinking about trying your hand at bowls? We are a friendly club who welcomes new members of all ages. Come along any week on a Monday evening around 6pm and meet with one of our three experienced, friendly and patient coaches. You will need flat shoes, but if necessary our coaches will provide shoes and bowls for you to try your hand. You will soon be joining in friendly games! Do phone us on 01306 889686, or use the email 'Contact Us' facility on this website. |
Bowling is both fun and sociable and it does not take long to pick up the essentials. There are friendly games on a Monday afternoon and Friday evenings, with the traditional spider for a bottle of wine. |
Friendly matches take place against other clubs in the Surrey and Sussex areas. We also compete in local leagues for those of you with a competitive flair.
We are always looking for experienced bowlers, so if you have just moved into the area and looking for a new club, or indeed want to take up bowling again, come and see us. Both Ladies and Men compete in various leagues both Rinks and Triples, Weekdays and at Weekends.
If you would like to talk to one of our members phone Club Secretary Terry Sutton on 01306 886420 or Chairlady Sonia Smith on 01737 222143. |

| Social Events |
Our Club is not just a bowling club but has a well supported social side. |
During the closed season from October to March there are Monthly Sunday Lunches usually followed by a short quiz. The 3 Course Lunches cooked by volunteer club members, are excellent quality and value for money. |
During the Winter Months there are Wednesday Card and Board Games, with regular Quiz and Race Nights. |
Christmas is celebrated with a Christmas Dinner and Dance, held this year at Betchworth Golf Club. |
Short Breaks in the past have included trips to France and the famous Potters Bowling |
| Centenary |
2012 shares not only the Olympics but celebrates our 100th Anniversary. We aim to make this a memorable year for the club. Our Centenary Committee are making plans now, but always welcome suggestions of how we should celebrate this period. Details will be published in the near future, so start thinking and contact Peter Rapley.
