BOCCIA Night
The Boccia night was organised by Pauline and Roland and was well attended with six teams of three fighting it out in a round-robin tournament. The red and blue teams are seated with each member having two balls. The game commences with a red team member trying to get close to the white jack by rolling or pitching – then a blue team member plays. The difficulty is that the balls are soft and tend to swerve around. The team that is furthest from the jack continues until one of their balls beats the other team – that team then continues, etc. The scoring is like bowls with the closest team counting their balls until the next closest is the other team.
The winning team of Greta, Steve and David even had a ‘hot shot’ in one round with all of their balls scoring.
