2023 Pairs Competition - off to a flying start

Ladies Pairs' and Men's Pairs Competitions
Off to a flying start on Sunday morning with 7 rinks (4 men and 3 ladies) in action. Some well matched games were played on a very hot morning, with one team typically pulling ahead in the last few ends to claim a clear win. Some of the ladies were enjoying it so much, they played the full 18 ends, even though the game was already won. A chance to cool down with drinks in the clubhouse and a friendly chat after, was much appreciated by all at midday.
The weather had cooled for the semi-finals on Monday evening that saw one of the Ladies' games with a clear win for Annie and Christine, and one of the Men's with a clear win for Brian and Paul Mc. In the other Men's semi-final James W. and John B. were down one after 17 ends but took the game with two shots on the last end. There was also an exciting finish in the other Ladies semi-final which went to a tie after 18 ends. Val and Sue won the extra end by one shot. Well done to all that participated and we look forward to seeing two exciting pairs matches on finals weekend.
