2025 Season - week 6 results

The week started well with a win in the men's GTL at Castle Green in the rain - an unusual green to play on. The team earned 2 points in the NDL against Banstead Neville, which helps to keep us currently third in the league. The Ladies had their first win in a friendly against Ewhurst but could not maintain their winning form in the Surrey Ad match at Bookham. The men rounded out a busy but successful week with three consecutive wins on the road on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday as follows:
East Surrey League Top 11: A very good win this week in the ESL Top 11 knock-out competition against division 1 team Shirley Park. Everyone on the team played well with Peter H. taking the 2-woods, Mike the 4-ball singles, and Nick and Ray the pairs. Richard W., Dan, and John S. were only down 2 shots and Paul C., James, Chris, and Trevor were 10 shots up with 2 ends to play when Shirley Park conceded the match.
Men's National Top Club: This has the same format as the Top 11 and another quality win was achieved at Cheam Fields on Friday. Mike took the 4-ball singles, Nick and Ray took the pairs, and Richard W., Hugo, and John S. took the triples. Peter H. lost the 2-woods. Paul C., Paul McA., Paul Man., and Trevor were keeping it close and only one shot down with 4 ends to play when Cheam Fields conceded.
Sutton ESL: Sutton came down from division 1 this year in the ESL and are clearly intent on going straight back up, having not lost a match until Dorking came to visit. An excellent 10-shot win by Martin, Peter R., Mike, and John S. and the other two rinks keeping it close, meant a win for us and maintaining second place in the league.
