2026 Season - Week 7 Results

The wet weather this week played havoc with our schedules. On Tuesday the 'old codgers' were away at Burpham and managed to get a rain shortened game in before the green flooded and the hailstones arrived again. A good win on one rink but an overall loss means we drop a place in the league to 2nd. The postponed Woodbridge Hill match will be played 15 July.

The NDL match against Warlingham Park on Wednesday was then rained off - this our second postponed NDL match means we drop to 9th in the league, but both matches have been rescheduled for later in the 'summer' (Warlingham Park 14th August and Croydon MO 28th August).

The first Border League match of the season was an excellent win away at Lindfield, with 6 points to start that season's campaign.

The Ladies then had an excellent win in the Surrey Ad over Ashtead, whilst dodging the intermittent rain showers.

The Saturday ESL match against Cheam Fields was played. despite the constant rain, and all was worth it as we gained our first 10 point win of the season. This keeps us in 8th place but only 4 points adrift of Sutton (this week's opponents) and Wallington.

Surrey action continues aplenty with congratulations to Carmel & John Stenton in the Mixed Pairs and to Mike Vergien in the 2-woods. Commiserations to Nick Roos and Al Hislop in the 2-woods and Ray Smith in the Officer's Bowl. Sadly the weather through a wrench in our entry to the National Top Club with the game called off and Felbridge winning on the toss of a coin.
