2026 Season Week 20-21 - Results
The last two weeks of the main season included some great results for the Club. The 'old codgers' had two games in a row and took 10 points from them, just missing out on one rink to Castle Green. This meant we finished 2nd in the GTL, just pipped by one point by Woodbridge Hill. Even so, it was a great season for the 15 players that participated. Finishing 2nd meant we sent one team of Richard W., Ray, and Trevor with Paul C. along in reserve, to play in the section finals against the Woking section. We were paired against the Woking 2nd place finishers, West Byfleet, and despite the rain and mud patches on the green (leading to Trevor taking a dive and Ray doing the splits) we won our match, the only Guildford team to win that day.
In the NSL we had a good result against Cheam Fields, taking 8 points, which moves us up to 2nd in that league also. We still have one make-up match to play at the end of the month - which could possible see us finish 1st but probably 2nd or 3rd. All would be a good end to this mixed league which has enjoyed having the Ladies play in it more often this year.
Finally two friendlies completed the 2 weeks with a good win against Ewhurst and a commanding win against Pippbrook. Well done to those teams.
