2026 Season - Week 4 Results
The week started well with another win in the Guildford League for the 'old codgers'. Both rinks had a good result over Albury, keeping us top of the division.
The Ladies then had a successful friendly win against Cheam Fields - winning on one rink and drawing on the other.
On Thursday the weather ruled the day, causing the postponement of the NDL match against Croydon MO. After playing the two trial ends, the heaven's opened and a deluge of hail hit the green turning it white and extremely slippery underfoot. Hopefully the match can be rescheduled or the points will be shared. With no points to count, this means we have dropped from 1st to 5th place in the league.
On Sunday two teams of four represented us in the Bowls England Club 2x4's against very strong teams from Purley Bury. We sadly lost on both rinks but hopefully all enjoyed the challenge on the day.
The Surrey competitions are well underway now and a special congratulations to the AAA team of Al Hislop, Andrea Florio, and Alan Wall, who have made it through to round 4 of the Surrey triples, following an exciting comeback win against a Brockham team. They now play away at Redhill on Wednesday. Equal congratulations go to John Stenton (another great comeback) and Nick Roos who won their unbadged singles matches. Commiserations go to Paul Crozier, Ray Smith, Alan Wall, and Richard Woodman in the unbadged singles.
