Dorking New Surrey League Winners
Many congratulations to the squad of players from Dorking who won the New Surrey League this season. The NSL is now a three mixed triples league played mid week. It’s a very competitive league with some of the top teams from South London.
Thanks must go to Richard Woodman and Peter Revell who took over the organisation of the Dorking NSL selection three years ago when it was mooted that Dorking might pull out of the league due to insufficient interest from members and finishing bottom of the league.
The Dorking players are predominantly drawn from the Green Keeping and Facilities Maintenance teams who agreed to commit to the league as well as others who expressed an interest in playing. Well done Richard and Peter for taking Dorking from last to first place in three playing seasons.
Dorking put out strong teams for all their NSL fixtures and had some very tight matches this season. They displayed great sportsmanship and showed a great team spirit, supporting each other, so well done Dorking.
There will be a cup awarded at the NSL presentation evening as well as a momento for the club to keep.
