WOW WOW WOW - Class of 2022
DBC have had a highly successful recruitment campaign this year.
The Open Morning on May 7th was attended by 36 people. All attendees were warmly welcomed by an enthusiastic team of helpers (bribed by bacon sandwiches from Marion and Pat) and were given a chance to put up a few bowls and find out about the club. They were then invited to attend the Monday evening coaching sessions. There was a great buzz all morning with coffee, tea and biscuits being served by Marion and Pat plus Eric opening the bar so the guests could sample the delights on offer.
Coaching evenings were held on each Monday in May and continued by popular demand through June. The coaching evenings were a great success with all six rinks in operation. The coaches (Chris, Neil and Vicky) were supported by assistant coaches, bowls buddies and members who helped set up the green, put out bowls and clear up afterwards. It was a great team effort by a lot of members and their involvement and friendliness helped sell the club to potential new members.
The proof of the pudding for all the hard work is that we have 27 new paid up members.
The new members have now joined in on Monday roll ups and Friday club nights and some are now representing the club in matches.
