2025 Bournemouth Bowls Tour
Dorking Bowling Club hit the Dorset coast with a three match tour this September. This is the third year that we have stayed in Bournemouth, but this time we played against different Clubs - Southborne (Bournemouth), Lymington and Greenhill (Weymouth) - so a good chance to see other parts of the county. 33 members formed the happy crew with 6 different rink teams playing each match - giving everyone the chance to play or rest. The weather was not on our side with drizzle affecting most days - but the hospitality was warm and we all still had some good games.
Results were mixed - losing two matches by a shot or two, but luckily (skilfully??) we did really well in one match which meant that overall we won. In the Clubhouses after the matches, there was a great atmosphere with results and presentations - followed by our thank-you song 
- appreciated by our opposition. Don't know how they felt when we won almost all of the raffle prizes 
. Then a rush back to the hotel for eveing meal, drink and entertainment. The tour has given us a chance to bond more and have some fun evenings - with interesting dancing and questionable singing.
A huge thank-you to Vicky and Charlie for organising the tour and being such good eggs. Vicky has said that she will look into organising another tour next year ......... can't wait.
