2025 Race Night social
The stands were packed with punters for the first Race Night in years at the new course in Dorking. Many had come along because they were curious, some because they wanted a flutter and some because they had lost their way. There was a packed card of 8 races with 8 horses in each and a variety of races - sprints, hurdles and jumps. New owners were required to lead their horses around the paddock and only the names were a guide to their form.
Each race had bets placed across the field - the funniest names had the most (?) There were roars from the stands as we encouraged our horses along with shouts of joy for winners and sighs for losers. There were some technical problems with the DVD - but Roland's finger came to the rescue.
It was a very good evening and one to be repeated another time.
