2025 Tuesday Night - Final plus Curry Night
A great tradition of Tuesday Night Triples has come to a close with the final matches and a fantastic Curry extravaganza - always a queue to get more. Great idea having the photo booth. Alan and Mary have sent out an email to those involved but it is worth repeating in this article. Lots of pictures below.
So, another year ends, I feel like it was only yesterday that we were starting TNT and sadly it’s all over for another year.
Last night was great fun and we hope you all enjoyed the music quiz and well done to Jim, Bob and Adrian for winning, but just a point! And also a nice touch to donate your prize to Sheila.
Congratulations go to our Winners of TNT 2025 ‘The 4 Tops’, well done to Paul MacAllister, John Stenton, Jane English, Marian Jefferson, John Jennings and Peter Dunckley, it was a tough season for them with multiple injuries, we could have renamed them the 6 crocks! But well done and we hope you all make speedy recoveries.
Commiserations go to our runners up the Detroit Spinners, it was looking good after 7 ends, but sadly they faded in the second half, so hard luck to Mary Mitchell, James Washer, Jan Curtis, Sheila Gray, John Bowen, Rory Humphrys and Danny Schwartz. 3rd place was an honorable draw between the Supremes and the Mamas and the Papas, with the Temptations beating the Miracles in the final match.
Congratulations go to Mary Mitchell who pipped Chrissie Ferriroli by 2 points to win this years Sunday Morning Roll-up and win a bottle of Whitney Neil Gin.
Also well done to the Newbie class of 2025, great to see a few of you there and we wish you well for the next year!
Once again thank you to Eric for doing the food, the curry was excellent and there were a few take aways at the end which were appreciated. Also thank you to Pat for the vegetarian curry and I can’t believe you got the Temptations song wrong! Big thanks to John for looking after the bar and supplying us with drinks every night and thanks to James for the loan of his music box (we got there in the end mate) and also for an immaculate green for bowling on, I do think it’s the best I have played on and we are all very lucky. Also, thanks to everyone that not only helped in the clearing up last night, but throughout the year, its really appreciated by all of us.
And finally, special thanks to Mary, for all her support throughout the year not only on TNT but SMR, constantly picking the pieces of the debris I leave behind! and all the things I frequently miss and especially for the ‘fun bus’, pictures will be edited and distributed shortly, great idea and well done to Carmel for winning the best dressed person!
We hope you all enjoy finals weekend and hope to see you in 2026. Mary and I, have done TNT and SMR for the past 2 years and thoroughly enjoyed it, but it might be time to pass the baton, anyone interested please see Sheila.
