2026 Abbeyfield Trophy
The second annual Abbeyfield Trophy was played out this afternoon with 5 Clubs [2 teams each] - Bookham, Brockham, Dorking, Ewhurst and Pippbrook - battling [in a friendly way] to be champions. Abbeyfield is a major sponsor to our Club and this invitation event is a great addition to our bowls calendar and a fantastic way to strengthen ties with other local Clubs.
A great afternoon was followed by sandwiches and nibbles ..... and of course the bar was open. Whilst the round-robin scores were calculated, the teams mingled and discussed missed shots, the odd lucky wick and what might have been. In the end both Dorking and Bookham won 3 and drew 1 - but Bookham had a better shot difference. So congratulations to Bookham with the Trophy being presented by Abbeyfield back in the Clubhouse.
