2026 Candlelit Bowls

It was a lovely change for the Candlelit Bowls evening to be warm and dry.  The evening started well with fish and chip suppers for all and then switching on the tealights as dusk arrived.  It was a random selection of teams to add spice and then it was torches on and out we went.  Surprisingly, some people played better in the dark  and very few bowls went astray and out of bounds.  It was fun - which was the main objective - and there were lots of whoops when the bowls were launched and nearly hit the people at the other end ....... Scores were a little immaterial but there was a winning team [Chrissie, Sheila B and Roland - I think, but then it was dark] who only won the kudos.  Thanks to Kevin and Roland for organising and Eric for manning the bar and those that helped put out, switch on and pick up the tealights - they worked well and almost bright enough to make a landing strip.
