End of 2025 Monday Roll up
The Monday Roll-ups were finally concluded after 19 weeks of fun and friendly bowls. Never meant to be serious - but nonetheless a great opportunity for members (especially new ones) to gain experience and confidence in their technique, playing different positions and the spirit of the game. Overall, we had 37 members take part over the season, but low turn outs for each of the sessions. This meant that only 15 achieved the 'required' 5 games to be considered for the friendly compeition.
The best individual 5 scores were calculated and the winner was ..... Fiona with an impressive 113 - thats nearly 23 on average. Luckily she didn't need this Mondays score of 5 (must have been an off day). Roland was second with 109 (and even managed a 4 during the season) with Paul C third with 106 (more consistent with nothing lower than 11). Wine and chocolates for the top three and cake all round . We have been lucky with the weather this year - only losing one Monday - not to rain but just too hot!! It has been lovely to see members progress and enjoy themselves. Bowls is a great social sport and this format is ideal to meet new people and pick up some guidance. We shall eagerly await next season - see you then.
