Open Forum March 2026
There was a good turnout for March's Open Forum where members had a chance to air views and hear any updates. The Agenda was quite short with - Communication, Recruitment and Volunteers as the main items. There are many routes that communication is actioned in the Club - email, WhatsApp, Website and notice board. Sheila was thanked for the time and effort that goes into her emails which cover everything that the whole membership should be interested in. WhatsApp groups have sprung up for limited audiences (eg Green Keepers, Sunday Roll-Ups) - but there is also a central one for the whole Club that has just evolved and lots of times it is banter but does have nuggets of advice being sought or news about people. The website covers all the information about the Club that both internal and external people might want to see. So fixture lists, internal competitions, match reports, social events, roll-ups, policies, etc. It is a window on the Club and important in this recruitment season to show how active and vibrant we are. The two Open Days are fast approaching and there was a call out for volunteers on the day to cover the various jobs - coaching, car parking, meet and greet, etc. Sheila might have picked up more points that I am sure we will see in her next email ![]()
There wasn't much in 'any other business' which to me shows that the Club is getting things right.
