Short Mat Autumn 2024
Our Short Mat was laid out for this Friday's Social (thanks Eric, Steve and Ted). It's a tight squeeze but it gives us a chance to play a different Bowls game. Our floor has a bit of a slope (here and there) so extra skill was required to not only get around the block of wood in the middle but to also keep the wood on the carpet!!
We had 21 members wanting a go - so we split into seven teams of three. After a very quick explanation of the rules and some idea of how best to play 
by Roland .... it was off. We managed to squeeze in a practice end and then 2*3 ends for everyone and still finish before 10pm.
There were a lot of woods that didn't make it into the scoring area - but that was half of the fun. We learned our lesson from last time and actually protected the radiator pipes with some foam.
